- About the artist
Gerrit Langedijk was a Dutch sculptor from Wageningen. Initially trained as a painter at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem, Langedijk decided to become an autodidact sculptor soon after completing his education there. Langedijk mainly worked abstract, especially later in his life, using marble and bronze.
